Medicare Online Claiming Outage

On the 1st and 2nd of August 2018, the Australian Government Department of Human Services (The Department) advised that Medicare Online, PBS, Easyclaim and ECLIPSE services were experiencing a degradation of services, resulting in slow response times.

The Department has stated that you should not resubmit during slow response times. You may need to resubmit at a later time when services are fully restored. The degradation to Medicare Online and ECLIPSE on August 2nd has stabilised and programs are now operating normally.

This issue is beyond PrimaryClinic’s scope of support as we have no control over The Department’s system. If the issue happens again, you should follow The Department’s same advice to wait and resubmit when services are fully restored.

Victoria, are you ready for SafeScript’s implementation?

SafeScript is a clinical tool that will provide access to a patient’s prescription history for high-risk medicines and enable safer clinical decisions.

The implementation of SafeScript is scheduled to start later this year.  All Schedule 8 and some Schedule 4 medicines will be monitored. From April 2020, it will be mandatory for prescribers to check SafeScript when writing a prescription for certain high-risk medicines. For more information, please refer to the Victorian Health Government website.

To get your clinic ready for SafeScript, please contact MediSecure to install e-prescribing, a free service which only takes a few minutes to complete, call 1800 47 27 47.

PrimaryClinic is already integrated with MediSecure. This ensures that the PIP Digital Health’s eTP (Electronic Transfer of Prescriptions) requirement is met.

If you haven’t already heard, clients using PrimaryClinic Practice can submit TAC claims online for free until 30th September 2018. Click the button below to download the user guide and set it up today.
